Over time, the trail shield may become worn or damaged, necessitating a replacement. The shield, black in color, is located between the rear wheels of your machine.

The trailing shield has been in use since 2012 and is still being installed on new machines. It measures 21 ¼” wide on the wider part and 20” on top.

Function

The shield is designed to reduce the amount of stones and debris flung backwards towards the operator. It also serves as an essential safety feature, minimizing the risk of accidental contact between the foot and the blade.

Easy Installation and Use

To replace the old shield, begin by removing the battery. Tilt the mower on its side and take off both rear wheels. Loosen the locking screw on both sides of the trailing shield and remove the old shield. Attach the new shield with the two locking screws and flat washers. Reinstall the rear wheels in the same order they were removed.

The trail shield is affixed to the mower's deck to prevent grass buildup. It can be used as a replacement for a broken or lost shield.

Product Size: Upper bottom: 19-7/8 inches, Lower bottom: 21-1/4 inches (Manual measurements may vary slightly).

The trailing shield is intended for use when the mower is moving forward only. Pushing the mower in reverse with the shield installed may cause damage from the blades. It is recommended to only move the mower forward when the shield is in place.

These parts come with plastic expansion anchors. Remove them from the part, hold them lightly with wide jaw pliers, and install the factory screw until secure. Install the new guard on the mower and tap the anchor/screw assembly into place to complete the process.
